What is the procedure for registering as an MSME?

Go to the Udyog aadhar registration portal if you wish to register your company as a micro, small, or medium-sized firm (MSME). You may also use the site to register as an MSME in one of two categories. Here’s what they are:

  • Here’s what you need to know if you’re a new company that hasn’t yet registered as an MSMEs.
  • Those who are registered as EM-II or UAM, or who are registered as EM-II or UAM through aided filing, get the same treatment.

If you’re a new business owner who hasn’t yet registered as an MSME, complete these steps:

  • Choose ‘For New Entrepreneurs Who Are Not MSME Registered’. a selection from the drop-down menu
  • After that, you must register by using one of two methods to enter your Aadhaar number.
  1. Registering with PAN
  2. Registering without PAN

If you’re registering with your PAN, complete these steps:

  • An OTP will be sent to your registered email and cellphone number after you enter your Aadhaar number.
  • After inputting the OTP, you will be sent to the PAN verification page.
  • Your portal will gather data from a government database if you have a PAN card.
  • After that, the person completes the ITR form.
  • You’ll get a notice that states, “Udyam Registration has been completed using PAN,” once you’ve entered your information. After that, you’ll need to verify your PAN.
  • Then, for the factory or industry, you must fill up your personal details.
  • Then choose ‘Submit and Receive Final OTP.’
  • Within a few days of your registration being confirmed, you will obtain an Udyog Aadhaar Registration Certificate.

For registration, a PAN is not necessary:

  • Select ‘No’ if you don’t have a PAN Card. Then you’ll need to follow the instructions below.
  • You’ll be sent straight to the Udyam Registration Page, where you’ll have to fill up your personal information.
  • After you’ve finished, click “Final Submit” to receive a Thank You Message.
  • Whenever you obtain a PAN or GST number, you must update them on the site.

Entrepreneurs with a current EM-II or UAM can register.

If you are an EM-II or UAM, you must check the box that reads “For those registered as EM-II or UAM through Assisted Filing” or “For those registered as EM-II or UAM through Assisted Filing.”

After that, you’ll be sent to a screen where you’ll need to enter your Udyog Aadhaar Number. Your registered cellphone number and email address will get an OTP.

After entering the OTP, you must complete your registration data, and your Udyam registration will be complete.

The Udyog Aadhaar or MSME registration is a certificate granted to micro, small, and medium-sized businesses in India under the MSME Act of 2006. Previously, the MSME certificate was known as the Udyog Aadhar.

Applications may now be filed online once the procedure was integrated with Udyog Aadhar registration. In addition, in terms of Udyog Aadhar registration, the following are the main goals of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises:

  • In addition, SSI must be protected from financial abuse by major businesses.

Eligibility Criteria for the MSME Program:

According to the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises’ notice, which went into effect on July 1, 2020, industries must satisfy the following qualifying requirements to be eligible for the MSME plan.

Micro-enterprise:

A micro-plant enterprise’s and machinery/equipment investments should not exceed Rs. 1 crore, and its total revenue should not exceed Rs. 5 crores.

Small-Enterprise:

The total income should not exceed Rs. 50 crores and the investment in plant and machinery/equipment should not exceed Rs. 10 crores.

Medium-sized business:

For medium-sized enterprises, plant and machinery/equipment investments should not exceed Rs. 50 crores and total revenue should not exceed Rs. 250 crores.
